Volleyball player Dylan Yturralde first broke into the masses when he appeared as a searchee in the It’s Showtime segment “Expecially For You.”

He even trended on social media with netizens looking for his Instagram account and photos after his stint.

It was something that Dylan really felt when he first checked his phone after the guest appearance.

He recalls in a recent interview, “After noong ‘Expecially For You,’ pagbalik namin sa standby area ko, yung cellphone ko, hindi tumitigil, as in!

“So, hindi ko alam ano uunahin, wala ako ma-reply-an kasi pati mga kaibigan ko na di ko nakikita, mga ganun na nagme-message!

“Actually, hindi ko alam ano uunahin ko. Ang una kong hinanap na message is yung nanay ko, yung tatay ko, managers ko. Sila inuna ko.”

But actually, it was something that did not surprise Dylan anymore.

He candidly says, “This may sound so mayabang pero di po ako nabigla. Hahaha!

“Hindi po ako nabigla pero kapag may tinatahak naman po ako, walang expectation pero di naman po ako nabibigla. I’m just happy sa appreciation ng mga tao.”

Dylan, however, admits that the experience is something he just dreamed of.

“Actually, it was super fun kasi pangarap ko rin yun, manood ng ‘Showtime’ pero hindi ako nakanood kasi ako yung nandoon, ako yung napanood!

“Pero actually, I was caught off guard sa first question kasi parang [tungkol sa] biggest secret na tinago ko sa parents ko, ayoko talaga sabihin. Parang three seconds yata ako nun nag-iisip, tapos conscious din ako kasi ayoko din naman yung sobrang tagal kong nag-iisip. So three seconds tapos three seconds ulit kasi nag-isip ako ng alternative. So ini-spill out ko na.”

The story was that Dylan actually lost his scholarship and did not tell his parents about it until he found a way to transfer schools.

But overall, the experience is something that he won’t forget, especially that he dreams of being an actor. He was even in disbelief that he was actually being interviewed at the moment.

He says of this, “Wow, artista ka na! Ikaw ba talaga to? Parang naisip ko, ako ba talaga ito or sa panaginip lang?

“But naniniwala ako na there’s more to come. Ready, of course! Di ba, ang tagal ko pinangarap ito pero along the way, we’ll learn.

“Hindi pa naman ako fully developed as an artista. I’m open to learning and with the guidance of my managers, I will do not only good, but great!”

Dylan is managed by VP Global Management Philippines. The management group recently partnered with TCP Artists Singapore where Dylan, along with other VP talents, will have more opportunities to appear in international projects.
