Pepito Manaloto star Michael V. unveiled a tattoo on March 6, 2025 to commemorate the legacy of Francis Magalona on his 16th death anniversary.
Bitoy—as he is also called in Philippine television—has uploaded a clip on Instagram showing an inking session back on March 9, 2009 at the Eat Bulaga! studio.
The video shows Bitoy’s red tattoo: a three star surrounding a sun insignia, which is very reminiscent of Francis Magalona’s nationalistic discography.
It comes with a caption that reads, “16 years ago, I did something na hindi kasama sa mga plano ko sa buhay. I have nothing against tattoos except for the part na masakit pala s’ya.
“Pero minsan mas okey na ‘yung sakit na alam mo ang pinanggalingan kesa du’n sa bigla mo na lang mararamdaman.
“ Francis M will live through his music. Everytime you listen to any of his songs, his memory will last a lifetime.”

The post gained a lot of attention from other celebrities—one of whom is Francis M’s daughter Saab Magalona. The 36-year-old actress replied with a fond, “We love you Tito Bitoy.”

The late rapper was highly revered for leaving a mark in the local hip-hop and rap landscape. Some of the notable songs he released are “Mga Kababayan,” “Kaleidoscope World,” and “Man From Manila.”
Francis M. was married to Pia Magalona. They have three daughters, Maxene, Saab, and Clara and two sons, Elmo and Arkin. The master rapper died at the age of 44 from leukemia.
