Game of Thrones actor Iain Glen joins cast of Quezon

The upcoming historical biopic Quezon just got bigger after it onboarded Game of Thrones actor Iain Glen as part of the cast ensemble.

Known for his iconic role as Jorah Mormont in HBO’s fantasy series, the 63-year-old British actor is set to portray Governor-General Leonard Wood in the TBA Studios-produced film.

In a video released by TBA Studios on Monday, March 17, Iain can be seen meeting up with the cast and crew of the movie for their script reading in Manila Hotel.

The film will center around the life and works of Manuel L. Quezon as a Filipino lawyer, soldier, and president of the Commonwealth of the Philippines from 1935 to 1944. Wood, on the other hand, is a United States Army major who served as governor-general of the country from 1921 to 1927.

The announcement followed after Jericho Rosales was announced in February 2025 as the banner star of the film—marking his big screen comeback. Aside  from him, Mon Confiado, Benjamin Alves, Karylle, Romnick Sarmenta, JC Santos, and Cris Villanueva are also part of the cast.

What does Quezon director say about Iain Glen?

Jerrold Tarog—director of the biopic—has nothing but praises for Iain. With the actor’s ability to make the film “much more alive,” Jerrold notes, “[He] has gravitas. At the same time, he can’t let loose, which is important for the role of Leonard Wood.”

The film is anticipated to be one of the biggest productions in Philippine cinema—as expressed by TBA Studios president Daphne O. Chiu.

She adds, “We are excited to share with Iain, and the rest of the world, the production scale and level of artistry that Filipino filmmakers are capable of.”

Quezon is TBA Studios attempt in bringing yet another historical film—succeeding its blockbuster films Heneral Luna and Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral.
