After 10 years, Kapuso actress Glaiza de Castro and Rhian Ramos are seen together again on one screen.

They play the lead roles in the musical movie Sinagtala, with Rayver Cruz, Arci Munoz, and Matt Lozano.

The last time that Glaiza and Rhian were seen together in a project was in the 2015 GMA-7 primetime series The Rich Man’s Daughter, where they played lovers.

Prior to Sinagtala, Glaiza and Rhian had already been working together in Encantadia Chronicles: Sang’gre.

According to the two actresses, a lot has changed in their working relationship after 10 years.

As Rhian puts it: “Even if we worked together before, I feel like iba na rin yung closeness namin ngayon ni Glaiza.”

She adds, “I feel like through time, nabawasan yung pressure for us. Before kasi, I felt like no matter what yung pinag-uusapan namin or no matter what yung magiging interes namin or ginagawa namin, laging nadadala pa rin yung usapan-tungkol pa rin siya sa TRMD.

“Siyempre, dahil mga artist kami and gusto naming mag-grow at mas marami pa kaming gustong i-explore na mga roles, nakaka-pressure siya to make it about that.

“Pero, now, because we’re older, we’re more mature, we’re more secure with ourselves, I don’t think we feel the pressure as much and we’re free to really open up na to each other. That’s why I said kanina na iba na yung closeness namin ngayon, iba na yung friendship namin ngayon, which I think will also translate to better chemistry in the future.”

Meanwhile, Glaiza has seen how much has changed in her and Rhian’s lives that reflected in the conversations they now have in between takes.

She explains, “Iba na yung mga pinag-uusapan namin-kandila, cookies, mga pampa-happy na.

“Kasi before, mas focused tayo sa work. Though focused pa rin naman tayo ngayon, pero mas personal na rin yung pinag-uusapan natin like life. Kasi, di ba, 10 years ago na rin yun?

“Different yung age namin nun. Ako, I was like, 28. Ngayon, 27 na ako so talagang nag-iba na dynamics, yung priorities namin nag-iba na. Ang saya lang din makausap si Rhi sa ibang subject, like hindi lang about work, about life.”

While they have been in several reunion projects now, such as Sinagtala and Sang’gre, Rhian and Glaiza promise that the RasTro fans will still get their wish soon.

Glaiza says, “Hindi ito yung inaasahan nilang pelikula, hindi pa ito. Alam ko, aware din naman sila na may gagawin pa kaming isang pelikula pero pabonus din ito sa kanila, di ba? That they’ll see us in a different story in different roles.

“Masaya kasi magkabanda kami, si Rhian din is musically inclined. Hindi alam ng mga tao na nagda-drums talaga siya so magugulat kayo sa kanya dito, palong palo!

Rhian adds, “Gagawin pa rin naman namin yung movie na yun na inaasahan nila. Marami pa kaming surprises sa kanila this year.”

Sinagtala, a different kind of film as it also deals with finding purpose in one’s life, is directed by Mike Sandejas and will premiere on April 2.
